ABOUT ME
I’m Trishala Ashok, a conservation filmmaker, storyteller, and founder of TruStoree Media Productions.
My journey into the wild began in an unexpected place: the luxury world of diamond jewellery design. But after witnessing firsthand the environmental toll of the industry, I knew I had to make a change. I traded diamonds and gold for camera gear, shifting my life’s work to focus on something far more precious – our planet’s disappearing wildlife and the people fighting to protect it.
With a background in media and a deep respect for wildlife conservation science, I’ve spent the past several years crafting documentaries that are rooted in empathy, ethics, and impact. My storytelling is shaped by a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to making conservation accessible to everyone, whether it’s through films, public workshops, or school screenings. I don’t just tell stories; I aim to tell them to the right people, at the right time, in the right way.
Over the years, I’ve directed award-winning short films in partnership with forest departments and non-profits across India. From the critically endangered gharials of the Indo-Nepal border to the secret lives of chameleons in Southern India, my projects aim to rebrand underappreciated species and ignite public curiosity. I’ve filmed across wild rivers, remote villages, and dense forests, always prioritizing the safety of wildlife and the dignity of communities.
At TruStoree, I wear many hats; I write, direct, produce, edit, and often lead every project like a showrunner. My team and I believe in storytelling as a tool for change. We work with conservationists, educators, and policymakers to turn science into stories that spark dialogue and inspire action.
When I’m not filming, I’m probably reading up on animal behavior, scouting new ideas, or training for my first bodybuilding competition – discipline, after all, is part of who I am.
Welcome to my world of wild stories told with purpose.
